Hiring in Vietnam through an Employer of Record
A Vietnamese employer pays most of the compulsory social insurance premium on top of salary.
On top of salary, the employer pays
- 14% Social insurance, retirement and survivorship
- 3% Social insurance, sickness and maternity
This is a floor, not the full cost: major employer charges in Vietnam are left out, as explained below.
What the employer pays on top of salary in Vietnam
- Social insurance, retirement and survivorship: 14 percent of the social insurance wage (Law on Social Insurance 41/2024/QH15).

Health insurance, unemployment insurance and the accident fund are left out because no clean government page states the employer share.
