What does one employee in Brazil cost through Oyster?

On top of the salary, Brazilian law makes the employer pay 20 percent social security (Lei 8.212/1991 art. 22) and 8 percent into the worker's FGTS account (Lei 8.036/1990 art. 15). Oyster charges its fee on top of both.

Includes the thirteenth salary: Brazilian law requires 13 monthly salaries a year, added here at face value. Not included: the employer charges on that extra salary, benefits and any currency conversion fee.

And in the United Kingdom

A UK employer pays 15 percent National Insurance on pay above a yearly threshold, and at least 3 percent into the worker's workplace pension, both set by the government on gov.uk. Oyster charges its fee on top.

This slightly overstates the cost: both rates are worked out here on the whole salary, while the law applies them only above a threshold or within a pay band. Not included: holiday pay rules, benefits and any currency conversion fee.
