Hiring in Philippines through an Employer of Record
A Philippine employer pays social security through the SSS, plus health and housing fund contributions.
On top of salary, the employer pays
- 10% Social security (SSS), employer share
- 2% Housing fund (Pag-IBIG), employer
This is a floor, not the full cost: major employer charges in Philippines are left out, as explained below.
What the employer pays on top of salary in Philippines
- Social security (SSS), employer share: 10 percent of the monthly salary credit.
- Housing fund (Pag-IBIG), employer: 2 percent of monthly pay, up to a cap set by the fund (Republic Act No. 9679, sec. 7).
PhilHealth is left out: its official pages give only the total and say it is shared equally, never the employer half as a figure. Both charges shown stop at a pay ceiling, so the total runs high for well paid staff.
Yearly cost of one employee in Philippines, by vendor
Salary plus the charges above plus the vendor's published monthly fee, for twelve months. Not included: benefits and currency conversion fees.
